A B O U T   U S

Hi everyone -  My name is Marni, the founder of Oliv' Photography. I am an introverted-extrovert with a great love for people, adventure and being creative.

In 2013 I completed my first photography course and a few weeks later I captured my first wedding. Ever since, this passion has grown over the years and I can't believe that I am lucky enough to capture these special moments for the past 9 years. My goal is to create authentic images, capturing those special moments between loved ones or a specific milestone in your life. I use natural light where possible and I strive to ensure that you feel comfortable in front of the camera by providing you with the necessary guidance in terms of posing and styling. At the end of the day I want us to have fun and to make it a memorable experience.

My trustworthy assistant in most of the shoots is my amazing mother (Fransie). She has taught me everything I know and we share a love for baking, sewing, design work and basically anything creative. Fransie has many more talents and the list is simply too long to add here. One of them I must add is her ability to make friends INSTANTLY.  Our videographer is my loving husband and best friend (Jean-Pierre aka Jean). He is my biggest supporter, the calm to ANY storm and the most loyal person you will ever meet.  We all share the passion of travelling and seeking new adventures, whilst growing closer to God.

T H E  N A M E:

Why Oliv' Photography?

Hopefully one day I will be able to stomach the taste of olives but it was actually the olive tree that played a big role in the name and I have grown fond of its colour and sense of tranquillity. The name Olive, in Latin, means a 'symbol of peace' and that is my prayer for each and every client and customer to experience peace in terms of their past, present and future endeavours.

The cherry on top, I married an Olivier :-) (Thus the reason for the spelling.)

The reason for this site and blog is to share with you the moments I have been blessed to be a part of and to use as a platform to share this passion and moments with family, old and (hopefully) new friends.

I look forward to meeting you.
